11th June 1860

Mary Brewster did not make a journal entry for this date in 1849. Mary Brewster’s remaining journal entries for this month were made for June 15, 17; 21-27; 29-30.


Mary Lawrence, [Mon.] June 11 [1860]: “The weather the same as yesterday, and our folks are all quite downhearted. Have been tacking all day in company with one bark, one brig, one schooner, and three ships. About noon spoke the bark, which we found to be the Andes, of Harpswell, bound to Boston. Made 35 miles on our course these twenty-four hours, having been able to carry a little more sail than the day previous. “
