May 29, 1860

Mary Brewster did not make any journal entries between May 27-31, 1849. During the month of June she was more diligent, making entries June 1-3; 5-8; 15, 17; 21-27; 29-30.

Mary Lawrence, [Tues.] May 29 [1860]: “The air close in the morning with some thunder. In the evening there were several clouds from which lightning proceeded incessantly with occasional peals of thunder, apparently at a great distance. The lightning was very sharp and lasted through the night. Made 75 miles the last twenty-four hours.”
