October 30, 1847

Mary Brewster, SATURDAY [Oct.] 30th [1847]: “All busy on deck in boiling [whale blubber into oil] and clearing up decks. Spoke ship Dover of N London, Capt. Jeffrey — 26 months 3,500 [barrels of sperm oil, whale oil, whalebone ?]. Capt. J. spent the day on board, was quite unwell, lacked some 200 bbls, was to cruise and then for home. At 9 this evening put out the fires on account of rain. Every appearance of bad weather tonight.”

Mary Lawrence (1858) made no journal entries between October 16 – November 29, 1858; while staying at Honolulu.

Eliza Williams (1860) made no journal entries between October 19 – 31, 1860.
