22nd May [1847 and 1858]

Mary Brewster, SATURDAY MAY 22nd [1847]: “Employed in sewing a great part of the day. Towards night went out to ride. Went a few miles down to the point, some 5 miles and returned by the sea shore. Enjoyed the ride very much. Passed the evening pleasantly and at 10, and thinking of sleep.”

Mary Lawrence, [Sat.] MAY 22 [1858]: “Boats were off once but without success. After tea Samuel went on board the Omega, and Mr. Whittens came here to see us, bringing the daguerreotypes of his wife and Lizzie. Had a very pleasant call from him. It seems very pleasant to see and converse with anyone who knows my friends, even if they are personally strangers to me.”

Eliza Williams did not make any journal entries between May 14-25, 1860.
