March 9, 1847

Mary Brewster, TUESDAY [Mar.] 9th [1847]: “First and middle part very fresh sea breezes with rain squalls. Latter rather pleasant. The ship under easy sail and husband does not intend getting to Lahaina till after the 20th as it often blows hard at this season of the year there, and the anchorage is not good, as ships frequently drag and run into each other. Employed in knitting edging and reading….”
