October 16 [1848 and 1859]

Mary Brewster, MONDAY [Oct.] 16th [1848]: “First and middle [of the day] fresh gales from NW to NE with thick unpleasant weather. Latter fresh gales from WSW and very rugged. Saw a ship steering East.”

Mary Lawrence, [Sun.] OCTOBER 16 [1859]: “The wind variable, the same as yesterday, mostly ahead; some rainy. About 6 P.M. the wind breezed up from the north.”

Eliza Williams did not make any entries between October 14 -25,1861.
